Christ University Commerce Association — Promotions & Sponsorships Associate
Driving corporate outreach, brand partnerships, and promotional campaigns as Promotions & Sponsorships Associate at CUCA, leveraging prior event logistics experience to secure commercial sponsorships for flagship initiatives like Concordia.
Having previously managed high-volume event operations and registrations for conferences like DIPSMUN and the Eco Summit, stepping into the Christ University Commerce Association (CUCA) was an intentional progression. I wanted to move from internal logistics into external business development — understanding the dynamics of pitching to corporate entities, securing sponsorships, and driving large-scale campaign outreach.
“Securing sponsorship isn’t just about requesting funds — it’s about learning to sell value, aligning brand incentives with a high-energy student demographic, and navigating the friction of real-world corporate negotiation.”
From Internal Logistics to External Capital
In earlier roles, my focus was primarily structural: handling delegate databases, scheduling rooms, and ensuring smooth on-ground delivery. At CUCA, the challenge shifted toward revenue generation and public positioning. Securing external capital requires understanding a company’s marketing goals and presenting our events not merely as student gatherings, but as prime engagement channels for brands seeking direct access to talented youth.
Campaign Focus: Concordia
A central focus of my tenure has been sponsorship acquisition for Concordia, one of the premier commerce initiatives hosted on campus. My outreach strategy focuses on identifying youth-centric brands, fintech services, and consumer products that campus students genuinely relate to. By leveraging the Christ University brand reputation, footfall metrics, and high-converting student demographics, we build pitches that deliver tangible return on engagement for partners.

Key Learnings in Business Development
Working on sponsorships revealed very quickly that external corporate engagement requires thick skin and persistent execution. Rejections and unanswered emails are part of the process; success lies in rapid iteration, sharpening the value proposition, and learning how to present our strengths persuasively. It has provided foundational, real-world experience in sales psychology, corporate communication, and relationship management.
